Introduction

We recently completed the sanding and restoration of a mosaic five finger sapele floor in Scunthorpe. Over time, the surface had become worn and uneven, with visible scratches and areas of dulling caused by regular foot traffic. The aim of this project was to carefully restore the floor while preserving the character and pattern of the original design.

Careful Preparation & Sanding Process

Mosaic and parquet flooring require a controlled sanding process to ensure the surface remains level and the pattern is not affected. The floor was carefully prepared before sanding began, removing surface wear and old finishes using professional-grade equipment. Dust-controlled systems were used throughout to minimise disruption within the property.

Finishing & Final Result

Once the sanding process was complete, the floor was refinished using a suitable protective hardwax system to enhance the natural tone of the sapele and provide a durable, long-lasting surface. The finished result is smooth, even and refreshed, bringing warmth and definition back to the space.
