St Nicholas Church Hall Parquet Floor Restoration in Haxey, Doncaster
Project type
Church Hall Floor Restoration
Date
June 2026
Location
Haxey, Doncaster
We recently completed the restoration of the original mosaic parquet floor at St Nicholas Church Hall in Haxey, North Lincolnshire.
The floor had suffered from heavy wear, scratches and damage caused by years of use. Previous sanding attempts had also left areas uneven and several parquet blocks had become loose.
After assessing the floor, we felt the original timber still had plenty of life left and could be restored rather than replaced.
Repairs were carried out to loose blocks and damaged areas before the floor was professionally sanded using a multi-stage process. Gap filling was completed where required to improve the overall appearance.
To provide a durable finish suitable for a busy community hall, three coats of professional 2K ceramic lacquer were applied along with a slip-resistant additive.
The complete restoration was carried out over four days, bringing this beautiful old mosaic parquet floor back into use for many years to come.
Customer Review
"Our church hall parquet floor was in need of repair and renovation. A previous tradesperson had condemned it and wanted to replace it. But Marcus calmly assessed it, quoted professionally, and has restored it to a clean, smooth finish.
He explained the work fully, communicated well by email when I asked for advice, and has given useful follow up information.
I have no hesitation in recommending him. Our PCC found his quote reasonable. Seeing the result, it was good value."
