Teak Parquet Floor Sanding & Oiling – Scunthorpe

This teak parquet floor in a Scunthorpe hallway had been hidden beneath carpet for many years, leaving the original surface finish worn and the natural colour of the wood dulled. Once uncovered, the floor showed great potential and was ideal for full restoration.
The old coating was completely removed, and the floor was sanded using a progressive sanding process to reveal clean, fresh timber. Care was taken throughout the hallway area to achieve a smooth, even finish across the parquet blocks, including the edges and borders.
After sanding, the parquet floor was sealed with a natural oil finish to enhance the rich colour and grain of the teak while providing durable protection for everyday foot traffic. The finished result is a restored hallway floor with warmth, character, and a natural appearance that complements the property.
Many properties still have original parquet flooring hidden beneath carpets, and restoration is often an excellent alternative to replacement.
